The 77-year-old actor and former governor of California was spotted on the set of The Man With The Bag, donning an impressive Santa Claus makeover. With a full white beard, facial prosthetics, and a loose Christmas sweater, Schwarzenegger looked almost unrecognizable. His trademark physique and striking features were concealed under the costume, adding to his transformation into the jolly holiday icon.
For one scene, Schwarzenegger sported a cozy white crewneck sweater emblazoned with a red pickup truck hauling a Christmas tree, paired with brown corduroy pants. Later, he layered up in a long red coat reminiscent of Kris Kringle’s iconic look as he spread holiday cheer across Manhattan.Although widely celebrated for his action-packed roles like The Terminator, Schwarzenegger is no stranger to Christmas films. In 1996, he starred in the family comedy Jingle All The Way, portraying a workaholic father learning the true spirit of the season. Now, he joins a roster of stars like Tim Allen and Kurt Russell who’ve played Santa on screen.
Directed by Adam Shankman and scripted by Allan Rice, the Amazon MGM Studios project follows a whimsical plot: when Santa's magic bag is stolen, he enlists the help of Vance, a reformed thief, to retrieve it. Alongside Santa’s daughter and a group of quirky elves, Vance must execute a daring heist to save Christmas. This marks Schwarzenegger’s first festive movie since Jingle All The Way and his first film role since 2019’s Terminator: Dark Fate. Although he filmed Kung Fury 2 the same year, its release has been delayed by legal challenges.Schwarzenegger has stayed busy outside of movies, recently appearing in his Netflix docuseries, which chronicled his journey from bodybuilding champion to Hollywood legend and politician. Despite stepping away from the Terminator franchise, Schwarzenegger expressed gratitude for the role’s impact on his career, saying, “The Terminator was largely responsible for my success, so I will always look at it fondly.”
In addition to his professional endeavors, Schwarzenegger is a proud father of five children: daughters Katherine (35) and Christina (31), and sons Patrick (31), Christopher (27), and Joseph (27). While his four eldest children are with ex-wife Maria Shriver, his youngest, Joseph, was born from his relationship with his former housekeeper, Mildred Patricia Baena.
