Orlando Bloom Open to Reuniting for New Pirates of the Caribbean Project
Orlando Bloom has expressed enthusiasm about the idea of revisiting the Pirates of the Caribbean universe, saying it would be “great to get the band back together” for a new film. The 48-year-old actor, best known for playing Will Turner in Disney’s blockbuster franchise, recently appeared on ITV’s This Morning to discuss the possibility of future pirate adventures and his latest acting role. When asked if there’s a chance the beloved seafaring saga could continue, Bloom replied:
“Well, I don’t know, I can’t say anything at the moment because I really don’t know, but there’s definitely availability. I think they’re trying to work out what it would all look like. I personally think it’d be great to get the band back together, that would be great, but there are always different ideas, and so we’ll see where it lands.”Though he remained vague on specific plans, Bloom’s comments will undoubtedly spark excitement among fans hoping for another outing with Captain Jack Sparrow and the original crew.Bloom Channels Liam Gallagher in Deep Cover
In addition to talking pirates, Bloom opened up about his role in the upcoming film Deep Cover, scheduled for release on June 12. For this character, the Kent-born actor found an unlikely source of inspiration: Oasis frontman Liam Gallagher.“When I read in the script that [the character] was a northerner, I was like, ‘Who’s the iconic northerner that I know?’” Bloom said.
“Growing up, I went to Knebworth and saw Liam and the boys — the whole band. But Liam, he’s just got that swag, hasn’t he? I thought if I can get even close to that, I’d have a lot of fun trying.”He went on to explain how this musical influence helped shape the character’s personality and look.
“I kind of imagined that he was this desperate, out-of-work actor. Maybe he worked at a costume house or something. So he’d get really into the costume and what he was wearing — the Liam look and everything. It was a really great way into the character, and I had a lot of fun with it.”A Look Back at the Pirates of the Caribbean Legacy
